Cesar
(formerly known as Calvin), is doing great. Bolt and him are
getting along good. I had to take Bolt tonight for some shots
and it he was so excited to see her when we got him. It was
very cute to see how excited they were to be back together.
In the morning when my alarm goes off he snuggles up next to me
for some loving and petting before getting up.
He LOVES to play ball. He knows when I get home at night that
we are going out to play. He is so fun to play ball with
becuase he is so intense about it. It is like a game of speed
ball. He runs full speed to gets it and drop the ball on his
way back so that you throw it again immediately.
His favorite thing is food/treats. My friends are amazed at how
fast he eats. Every night right before bed I let the dogs out.
When I let them in he sit immediatly by the treat jar looking
for his bedtime snack.
He has learned to high five, wave, shake, heal, stay and roll
over. Bolt also taught him how great it feels to lay in the
baby pool this summer. When I first brought it out he didn't
want to go it but after a long game of ball he learned quickly
how good it felt to relax in the pool. Bolt now is try to help
me teach him to speak.

Zoey
My family adopted Zoey this past summer.
Zoey has been a part of our family for about 4 months. She fit right
in with our family! She goes on long walks, runs, lounges by the
pool, rides in the car, and has even been apple picking with us. She
LOVES people and they love her. She is a big dog, but a gentle giant
and her favorite thing (besides car rides) is to just sit with you
and be petted. She gets compliments every time we take her out and
is always friendly & wanting to meet new people. She is only 2-3
years old so she makes us laugh with her playful puppy energy and
loves being outside (and watching squirrels and birds). She is the
sweetest dog and we couldn't be happier that she is a part of our
family!
Thanks for helping us find Zoey! She has become such an important
member of our family!
Sincerely,
Tom, Mary Ellen, Shanna, Alyssa, Brennan, & Riley (yellow Labrador)

Giggsy
Hello!
We adopted Giggsy about two years ago from you. He is the love
of our lives. He loves to cuddle and also has to be the center
of attention. He is so easy going but if he sees a squirrel or
rabbit he obsessed with them for hours. He loves to chew on his
bones and isn’t afraid to let them drop right on your toes. I
think it does it to make sure we know he is there. Giggsy is
such a great dog and I wish every home had a dog like him!
Love,
David and Stephanie Doggett

Riley
Hi. My name is Jon and in August of 2011, Riley joined our family.
I’m 7 and I’ve wanted a dog since I was 4. Only a black puppy would
do. Mom let me have a Webkins when I was 5 and my password… black
fluffy puppy! As you can see, I’m determined and worked on my mom
and dad for quite a while until they agreed I needed a dog. When we
adopted Riley and took him to our Vet, they picked out a birthday
for him and guess what, it is the SAME exactly birthday as mine.
What a coincidence and it made it real in my heart that Riley was
meant to be mine. We’ve been going to puppy training school
together and Riley learns really fast and loves to respond to
commands. I’m not sure if he loves to work or loves the treats, I
think both. Thanks Tailwaggers911 for bringing Riley into our
family. He’s the coolest, smartest, cutest, softest, best dog
ever.

Sally & Fergus
Sally tied for best duo with my other dog as SuperFergus!!!
I've attached one of Fergus also (also a shelter dog!!)
Sally is doing great. We've started beginning agility which has
really been alot of fun for both of us. I've been really lucky
and she's fit in so well with Fergus.
Thanks again!!

We wanted to send this picture along for a Halloween party the dogs
went to for Day care. They are doing amazing, the best of friends,
our best friends, and the cutest dogs ever (as you can see from the
picture) :).
Happy Halloween and a big thanks to Tailwaggers for them!

Sassafras
Here’s Sassafras (adopted 08/10) and Abbey f/k/a ABBA (adopted
07/11). Life in our house is one big dog party. It’s great having
two dogs, one keeps the other one busy (right now they are playing
tug a war with a oatmeal cover; garbage pickers? Yes!!). Sass is a
great dog. I wondered what I was getting myself into with another
dog, but it all worked out very well! Sass actually trains Abbey;
she follows her everywhere. I am not sure if we’re luckier to have
them or they’re luckier to have us.
Either way, Thanks Tailwaggers for bringing us our two “Beast
Friends!”

Matty
This summer we had plans to visit family in the Devils Lake area,
being first time dog owners, we didn't want to leave her with
anyone. We found a hotel
that allows dogs and packed all of her things! She was the best
travel companion a family could ask for, she hiked at Devils Lake,
loved her "bye bye in
the car" and even went to the Dells. Thanks Tailwaggers 911,

Mortimer
I can't believe it's already been over a year since I adopted
Mortimer the Moose (Buck)!!
He has been an amazing addition to my life! Thought you might want
to know that while he's not the mellow dog we all thought he'd be,
(that act turned off as soon as the couple that approved the
adoption left LOL), he has been an absolute love! He's also 83
pounds now! The vet feels he was a Christmas baby, so this year
he'll be 2 already!!!
It's been a year since I fell and ended up in a walking cast for
almost 5 months. He was amazing the whole time, including helping to
get me back inside right after I fell so I could get to the phone
and call for help. So because of that, we're going to start making
periodic nursing home visits in the next couple of months!
Apart from our 2 daily walks & potty breaks, we go to one of several
Milwaukee & Ozaukee County dog parks at least once a week.
As for your concern about my cats and him, I'll send you a picture
regarding that too.
Anyway, I hope you keep up the good work and find these babies
homes!
I took this picture at the Patrick Cudahay War Memorial Lagoon Park
a couple of weeks ago, hope you enjoy!

Lucy
I just wanted to let you know we are truly blessed - Lucy is a
wonderful awesome addition to our family. When we go to the dog park
- she is so well socialized she gets along with all the dogs. Her
favorite is an Airedale terrier and it is so funny to see her run
figure eights around the dog. She is the fastest dog in the park.
She is a pal to our corgi, Bix. They play gently together each
taking turns dominating and mostly they like sitting at the patio
door together watching for the squirrels outside.
For us, she aims to please, she's smart and is just the sweetest
animal. She even licked the vet on her initial exam. He couldn't get
over it. Can you tell we are smitten. Thank you Tailwaggers. May 13, 2011
Holli & Duke
We adopted Holli and Duke back in July 2007. Holli had come from a
southern state pregnant with 9 puppies. Shortly after she arrived in
Wisconsin she had her litter. The first time I saw her I fell in
love but we would have to wait to take her home, she was needed to
be a mother. We thought it would be great to adopt her along with
one of her puppies. She had 6 girls and 2 boys. She seemed to be
especially close with one of the boys so we took him and named him
Duke. They are great together. They have brought so much joy to our
lives. Back in November 2009 we moved from Wisconsin to Texas. The
main requirement when purchasing a home was a big fenced in yard for
my “kids” . They love their new home. This past March we added
Rex to our family. Rex was rescue from our local animal shelter.
We want to
spread the word that adopting a rescue dog is a wonderful
experience. So many unwanted animals need homes. We are so
thankful to Dawn and Tailwaggers 911 for bringing us Holli and Duke.

Sunnie
My name is Sunnie. I came to my forever home 1
˝ years ago. I have a doggy brother named Blaze and we play every
day. I also have two human brothers that I adore. My likes are: Any
toy I can chase, Frosty Paws a frozen treat for dogs, of course my
food (I am a lab) sneaking between mom and dad at night to sleep,
daily hikes, and in the summer any place I can swim. My
dislikes are walking on a leash, (hey I am a free spirit) and having
to wear my sweater when it is really cold and windy. (How
embarrassing) I love being part of the family, picking up kids from
school, playing hide and seek (I am really good at tracking them)
and cuddling up next to them watching a movie. Hey, my life is great
now, my family loves me sooo much, thanks for pulling me out of that
shelter Tailwaggers!

Bailey
Bailey came to us a little over a year ago. She came with a warning,
she had "man issues." My husband was up for the challenge & I knew
his patient, kind demeanor would eventually win her over. It took a
few weeks for Bailey to really warm up to my husband, but we have
been 3 peas in a pod ever since! This little girl has stolen our
heart & we love taken her on hikes, to the dog park, & the many
lakes around where we live. She is the first grand-dog for my
husband's parents & they love having her come to visit! Our many
nieces & nephews love treating her like their very own pillow pet &
she loves it as much as they do! She's really found a special place
in our hearts & home. Our lives wouldn't be the same without her &
have never looked back. It was sad to think there were so many that
passed her up because of her shortcomings. She's truly a wonderful
dog & you'd almost never know she ever had "man issues" if you see
her with my husband!
Hopefully one day we'll be able to add a brother or sister to her
life but we'll have to wait until we have a bigger house to do that!
Thanks Tailwaggers!

Timmy
I can officially announce even though I am not gainfully employed at
this moment, that Timmy my latest rescue dog has managed to secure
a position with Linden Grove Nursing Home in
Menomonee Falls.
His duties will include cleaning up the dining room floor after
residents have dropped morsels, shaking hands with staff, and
entertaining residents with his multiple gifts of chasing his tail
until he is dizzy, sitting up only to fall over sideways, and
cocking his head sideways when people are asking him silly
questions. He will also be responsible for frisking all resident’s
pockets for any contraband such as leftover cookies, biscuits, or
treats.
He went today for orientation and for the first time in his life
went through automatic doors, rode on an elevator, fended off
walkers, wheelchairs, canes, and crutches, and still managed to
bring many smiles and laughs to residents and staff alike without
barking snotty once.
At the end of his tour his mission to inspect the kitchen was
thwarted as it was just prior to dinner and all involved thought
they saw through this ploy.
So give Timmy Tuxedo a kudos as he will be added to the therapy dog
roster at the Home this week.
Thanks Dawn and Donna his Rescue Moms for keeping him in hiding for
a year until I could find him; he is a very sweet and happy dog. April 1, 2011
Winston
I just wanted to update you on Winston. He's doing well and
beginning to come out of his shell. We had a canine behavior
specialist from the Washington County Humane Society come to the
house and she gave us some great tips which have been very helpful.
He's starting to come around with my husband, but he's still not his
favorite person. He's fantastic around me and the kids. We have a
couple more weeks of obedience training left at the Humane Society
and this has been good for him as well. He's very smart and picks
up on commands very quickly. I did look into doggie daycare for him
at a local place, but they recommended I give him a few more months
to "get comfortable in his own skin" before giving that a try. All
in all he's doing really well and acclimating nicely to his new
home. We love him!

Lady
Lady came into our lives three years ago and was a new Mom when we
met her. We knew that her puppies would be adopted right away, they
were all so cute! We fell in love with Lady the first time we met
her out in Dawn's front yard...she greeted each of us with a nuzzle
and a kiss and then laid her head on my Mother-in-law's lap. That
was all we needed in order to know that we had found our newest
family member. Since coming to live in her new home with a fluffy
brother and a human brother and sister, Lady has learned to play and
is not quite as afraid of loud noises as she used to be. She still
isn't fond of sudden movements and has some trouble around garden
hoses and brooms but she is learning to trust more and more every
day. When her fluffy brother goes for his haircuts she sits by the
door looking for him until he comes home again and she welcomes him
happily! I think she really enjoys being a part of our family and
our family definitely enjoys her.

Mico
Mico was adopted into his Furever home in June of 2010. Initially
he was shy and afraid of new things and had some health issues but
now he is full of confidence and enthusiasm and is physically in
great shape. He's turned into quite the handsome boy with a lot of
muscle and a beautiful dark chocolate coat. It helps that he gets
plenty of outdoor exercise, alternating walking and jogging anywhere
from 3-7 miles daily which he looks forward to every day. He's
smart and learns lessons quickly. Our long term goal is for him to
become a pheasant hunter. He's already shown great potential
for it. He loves to ride in the car and I think he would prefer to
drive if he could. He's an awesome dog who's grown considerably
in a short time, both physically and mentally. I never imagined I'd
have another dog ever again after the passing of Chase, my 13 y/o
chocolate lab so thanks TW911 for bringing the love of a dog back
into my life. I can't imagine anything more fulfilling! February

Millie
Loves: belly rub sessions, dog parks, chasing tennis balls and
rabbits, playing tug-of-war, people, climbing the highest snow banks
she can find, hide-n-seek, and her ultimate past-time: sleeping.
Dislikes: loud noises especially thunder and motorcycles, when she
wants to go to bed and no one else is she gets all annoyed and will
sit and stare at you until you go to bed, and being away from her
boyfriend Dre.
We adopted our little wiggly butt in September of 2009. She came
from Alabama and you wouldn't even guess it the way she has taken to
the Wisconsin winters. She thoroughly enjoys running up and down the
snow banks, getting to go out on the lake and run around like a
crazy girl, catching snowballs only for them to disappear and then
she rolls around in the snow trying to find them. She had her first
experience on the boat and jumping into the lake this past summer
which still makes us laugh when we watch the videos from it. She
truly loves people so much that she gets so excited she cannot help
but fall over onto her belly and start spinning for belly rubs.
After the day is done, she wants nothing more than to curl up and
snuggle with you or sleep. She loves her peace and quiet. Most days
we will come home and she is all spread out as she in in the picture
above. You cannot help but smile.
Thank you to Tailwaggers and the Rombca Family for believing in
Millie and giving her a chance. She was so close to losing that
chance at life which to this day still surprises me. We have been
and continue to be blessed by her every single day. She brings so
much joy and laughter into our lives. I love nothing more that to
come home to a dog who wiggles her butt so much that she loses her
balance because she is so happy to see you. The Rombca's were a
great fit for her as foster parents and I spend everyday thankful
for their big hearts. THANK YOU. February

Lily
We adopted Lily in July 2008, and
welcoming her into our family was our best decision ever! Lily was
around 12 weeks old when we got her. She was a bit aloof as a
puppy, but with lots of love and affection, has grown up to be a dog
who is very attached to her "people". She loves to cuddle, and she
enjoys snuggling with anything soft - blankets, pillows... We were
curious to know what breed she is, and it ends up that she is quite
the mix. DNA test results show that she is part beagle, part
poodle, part schnauzer, and part afghan hound! We like to say that
she's the only Schnafoogle in the world. Everywhere we go, people
ask what kind of dog she is, where we got her, and they compliment
her on her lovely coloring. In 2010, we relocated to California,
and it seems to suit her just fine. No more walks in the snow and
ice! Every day we feel so lucky to have found such a sweet and
loving dog.
Thank you, Tailwaggers! February

Lily & Lucas
Age: Almost 2 Likes: Belly rubs, treats, the dog park, belly rubs, new toys, belly
rubs, dinner time, belly rubs, breakfast time, did I mention belly
rubs?
Dislikes: The UPS man, the vet, and the vacuum
Favorite toy: My mom's slippers
Favorite pastime: Car rides!
Name: Lucas
Age: 1
Likes: My dog bed, sitting on my Mom's lap, the dog park, snuggling,
and chasing balls
Dislikes: Nail cutting time, sirens
Favorite pastime: Collecting my Mom's socks and putting them in my
kennel.
We adopted Lily (Sabrina) in August 2009 and figured the best way to
initiate her into the family was a two-week long camping & road
trip.
She took to it like a champ. She was great in the tent and loved
going
for hikes in the various National Parks. Here is her picture in
Utah.
After having such good luck with Lily, we decided she needed a
friend,
and finally decided on Lucas (Bryce) and adopted him in February
2010.
The bond was immediate and they are the best of friends and
playmates.
We are convinced they are the best dogs ever and love them to
pieces.
Thanks Tailwaggers! February

Philly
About a year after I
adopted Philly we were listening to Bob Dylan and he suddenly
started to sing along. I am not kidding – sing along. As time has
passed he has many things he will sing to but certainly not just any
music. He likes Bob Dylan, Brent Dennen, and a whole handful of
others. I have a clip of it on YouTube if you want to see for
yourself.
Brad has tried to
see if Boston will sing to music, but so far to no avail… Philly is
the vocalist in the family. J

Rodger
We
adopted Bourbon at Christmas time 2009. As a young family, we didn't
like the name (even though Bourbon is tasty!) and I asked my kids
who wanted to rename him "Rodger" after Aaron Rodgers. Now we call
him Rodger, Rodgie (pronounced Raji, as you might imagine), or as of
February 6, MVP. He's an MVP like Aaron; Most Valuable Pet.
Rodger is a black lab mix but someday
we will find out what the 'mix' is. He's from the South so could be
coon hound; who knows. We fell in love with his coloration and his
delightful personality and he is the perfect dog for us. He's smart
and can train easily although we could probably spend more time
doing that. Most of all, he is a lover. He loves to cuddle and
clearly knows that Mom is the pack leader. Since he came to our
house, the boys didn't want to let each other be the one to sleep
with the dog, so for 9 months they and the dog all slept in one twin
bed (the bottom bunk). It got a little crowded so we got rid of the
bunk beds for a queen size bed in their room and now all three boys
(two humans, one dog) sleep in one bed together. That will change
someday, but for now it's golden. Rodger gets comfortable, puts all
4 legs up in the air and snores like an old man. That is when I
know he is really content.
Rodger doesn't like to chase balls or
sticks much, he does it but is not obsessed with it. He's very
social and just likes to hang around his "people". He hasn't
learned how to swim yet; he's been in water but not over his head so
he really just splashes around. He is pretty good on walks and
LOVES the dog park. Very good etiquette and gets along well with
other dogs. He is topping out at 60 pounds even -- 17 months old
now so he's probably done growing up. He's stopped wanting to eat
twice a day. More like once.
We hope to be able to take him camping
this coming summer, but for now he still has a little separation
anxiety that he is starting to grow out of so he sleeps in his
kennel when we're not home. He loves it! He's a Lab after all, and
he has the occasional chewing issue....but he really likes the
garbage most of all.
But the cutest thing that Rodger does
is always, always, always--if we're gone for 5 minutes or 5 hours he
welcomes us home with a shoe. Always a shoe. He doesn't chew them
he doesn't do anything with them but present them to us as a welcome
home gift. Every single time. And we think HE is the best gift of
all. February

Jimmy
We adopted him in
December 2009 when he was 9 months old.
He is the best dog ever. He is smart, courteous, healthy and happy.
We have been the lucky recipients of his love and companionship.
He is very social and must greet every person he meets with a
wagging
tail, and is also the greeter for all dogs at the dog park! He
LOVES
to be chased by other dogs and is usually trying to tease other dogs
into doing this. He sleeps next to us on his own bed and greets us
each morning. We are moving towards getting Canine Good
Citizenship so as to take him on hospital, etc. visits.
He is such a joy to have around!
